          You may feel as if too many things are being left undone and you are approaching the point of no return. The key is in accepting where you are, knowing you may never be ready to tackle everything, and starting from there.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Ella Fitzgerald once said, “It isn’t where you came from. It’s where you are going that counts.”
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         Take an Easy, Baby Step
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          If you have a kitchenful off dishes to wash, wash 10. If every room in the house needs to be tidied because people are coming over at the weekend, tidy one room. If you have 50 pieces of paper on your desk, attend to five of them. Once you get started, it can be easier to keep going.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          The first step is the most important.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         Commit to 10 Minutes
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Dreading paying bills? Do it for 10 minutes. You may find yourself willing to do 10 more. Even if you don’t, you got SOMETHING done, and maybe tomorrow you will be willing to do 10 again.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          Climb that mountain one step at a time.

         Give Everything a Deadline
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          If you do well under pressure, put your unappealing tasks on a deadline! With a firm deadline in place, it is easier to look at a task as something that ABSOLUTELY HAS TO BE DONE, rather than something that can be put off over and over.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         Set Goals
        &#xD;

          Tie your

    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           What do I need to do to meet this goal?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           How can it be accomplished over time?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           What are the steps I can take?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           How often can I take another step? Daily, weekly, monthly?
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          Set up a date by when the whole task should be accomplished to hold yourself accountable.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         Set Rewards
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          “After I mow the lawn, I get to enjoy a small sweet treat.”
          &#xD;
    &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
    
          “After I send out that party invitation, I can take a half-hour bike ride.”
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Whatever works to get yourself motivated to do the task at hand.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          You can tie the rewards to your short- and long-term goals. For example, if you want to go to a movie, promise yourself to spend an hour on tasks related to your goal before you go. If you haven’t done what you planned to do, no movie.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Set up a reward after every baby step. Maybe for every task you cross off the list, you get to surf the web for 10 minutes, or watch 10 minutes of a series on Netflix you have been enjoying.
         &#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         Find an Accountability Partner
        &#xD;

          Ask a friend, family member or your life coach to monitor your progress toward a goal. Offer to do the same for them. Connect daily or weekly see how you are doing.

&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

          Once you establish these healthy habits, you may notice the stress attached to disagreeable tasks drop substantially.

          When this occurs, the procrastination may also begin to dissipate.

          Narrow down your priorities to a few key areas; trying to tackle too much can lead to spreading yourself too thin.

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          For example, you might have the following three priorities: “Get a better-paying job/promotion (career), call Mom once a week (family), get the paint out and work on my art at least two hours per month (intellectual).”

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

         Set 
        SMART goals

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant and Time-Bound goals are crucial for tracking progress and staying motivated. Break your priorities into smaller, manageable objectives that meet the SMART criteria.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          We don’t accomplish our goals by accident, especially if we don’t know what they are! “Have a better year in 2024” is not specific enough. You won’t know if you met this goal because it is not measurable. Think of something you can clearly define, like, “Earn $5,000 more in 2024 than in 2023.”
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         Develop an action plan
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Once you have your goals, create a solid plan. It should outline the steps you need to take to accomplish each objective. Set deadlines, create milestones and rewards, and regularly review and adjust your plan as necessary.
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;

          For example, if you want to call your mom every week,

           Decide how long each call will last.

    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Set a timer on your phone.

           When the timer goes off, wind down the call.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Plan a little reward for after you have achieved this goal for a month, such as a massage or a two-hour staycation to a museum, restaurant or park you have been wanting to visit.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;

         Stay committed and motivated

          Consistently remind yourself of your goals throughout the year. Visual reminders, journaling or sharing your goals with your spouse or a trusted friend are all ways to stay focused and accountable. Celebrate small victories along the way to keep the momentum going.

          The more specific you can get about your goals and the steps toward achieving them, the better your chances of success.

         1. Set Clear Objectives and Agendas
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Before scheduling the virtual gathering,
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;

          Maintaining participant engagement is crucial during virtual meetings. It is easy for people to check out.

           Move beyond the traditional presentation format and adopt interactive elements to maximize participation.

           Consider incorporating visuals, videos or interactive documents that encourage attendees to get involved rather than just observing.
          &#xD;

           Have 5-7 minute breaks every 35-40 minutes. Ask participants to get up, look away from their screens, stretch and move around.

          In a virtual setting, where non-verbal cues are limited, it is essential to establish clear communication guidelines. Encourage all participants to use their webcams, as seeing each other’s faces can foster a sense of connection and attentiveness.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Establish ground rules for muting and unmuting microphones to reduce background noise and promote focused communication. Encourage active listening and provide opportunities for everyone to contribute, ensuring that even the quieter team members have a chance to share their thoughts and insights.

  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         5. Start and End on Time
        &#xD;
&lt;/h4&gt;&#xD;

  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
    
          Virtual meetings can quickly become unproductive if time management is not effectively implemented:
         &#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;div data-rss-type="text"&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;ul&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Allocate fixed time slots for each agenda item as part of the meeting structure.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Stick to these time limits to ensure discussions remain focused and relevant (a facilitator helps).
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Be mindful of participants’ time zones and availability.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Consider scheduling shorter, more frequent meetings instead of long, exhausting sessions to maintain energy and productivity. No meeting should go more than two hours with at least two breaks.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/ul&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;p&gt;&#xD;
  &lt;/p&gt;&#xD;
&lt;/div&gt;&#xD;
&lt;h4&gt;&#xD;
  
         6. Follow Up
        &#xD;

Transparency and clear communication foster an environment of ownership and accountability, enabling team members to track progress and stay aligned with defined objectives.

           Don’t try to do anything else during the meeting.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Turn your camera on.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Make sure you have the right gear.
           &#xD;
      &lt;br/&gt;&#xD;
      
           Invest in a quality webcam and microphone so you’re putting your best foot forward. Built-in webcams and microphones aren’t the best quality. Take a look at web-cams and microphones on Amazon. It’ll be money well spent–specifically if your role is remote.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Set up your workspace before the call.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Speak clearly and slowly.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Be thorough and descriptive.
          &#xD;
    &lt;/li&gt;&#xD;
    &lt;li&gt;&#xD;
      
           Share your screen to illustrate your points.

           Complete your to-dos in a timely manner.
